BULK Greek Seasoning

Make this bold, flavorful Greek seasoning mix inspired by Easy Family Recipes—perfect for chicken, veggies, and more. Warm spices, herbs, and a citrus twist make it a pantry essential.

There is something so satisfying about making a meal from scratch that everyone—and yes, I do mean everyone—just loves. Several of my kids have put my Greek Chicken in their top 3 recipes of all time. (You can read more about that recipe here.) This seasoning blend will allow you to savor the flavor bomb that has won over our hearts and our tastebuds.

But I digress…

Found It Here:

Awhile back, I was on the hunt for some new homemade seasoning blends and stumbled across a Greek one on easyfamilyrecipes.com. I made a 4x batch on the spot, and it’s lived in my spice cabinet ever since.

Personally, I added a bit of allspice since I had extra I’d ground fresh for another recipe. I also threw in some dried lemon peel—so even if you’re out of fresh lemon, you still get those bright citrus notes. The earthiness of the blend really shines thanks to warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. I only keep whole nutmeg on hand, so I grate it fresh with my microplane for every recipe. (It ends up in my mashed potatoes, meatloaf muffin glaze, and just about anything with spinach.)

Even though I haven’t officially updated my Greek Chicken recipe to use this seasoning blend, the last time I made it, I added a heaping tablespoon straight into the crockpot after brushing the pita bread with the marinade. Having this mix on hand—prepped and ready—makes one of our favorite dinners even easier. All day long, our house smelled AMAZING with this added to the chicken alongside regular marinade in the crockpot.

Next time I make Greek Chicken, I’ll update the recipe to reflect the swap. In the meantime, do yourself a favor: make this Greek seasoning blend from easyfamilyrecipes.com. And while you’re at it, poke around her blog—she’s got some great stuff!

Blending your own spices might feel like a small thing, but it adds up to big flavor. Whether you’re cooking for picky eaters, spice lovers, or just trying to get dinner on the table faster, this Greek seasoning mix earns its keep.

And a big thanks to Kimber over at Easy Family Recipes—her original blend was the jumping-off point for my version. (Check out her blog—she’s got some great stuff!) It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t make a few tweaks (hi, allspice and lemon peel!) to fit what we love. No matter which version you use, it’s really good. Real food. Real kitchens. Real love.–The Food Civilian
