Skip the store-bought packet and mix up a batch of this flavorful, pantry-stable Onion Soup Mix. It’s a great way to control the ingredients (no MSG, no mystery powders) and always have some on hand for dips, roasts, and soups.
Ditch the envelope—this homemade mix has your back.
This is my go-to bulk recipe for homemade onion soup mix. You know the one…that little store-bought envelope that shows up in dips, meatloaf, and pot roast recipes everywhere? This version makes a big batch so you can skip the packet and always have plenty on hand. Better ingredients, same savory punch.
I make this up and store it in my spice cabinet so it’s always at the ready. I use in my Meatloaf Muffins, roasted potatoes, pot roast, and for dips. You can also add it to soups for an extra punch of flavor. I think it works especially well for those who may not be as fond of onions as I am.

BULK Onion Soup Mix
Ingredients
- 2 ⅔ Cup Dried, minced onion
- ¼ cup Dried Parsley
- 3 TBS Onion Powder
- 3 TBS Turmeric
- 4 tsp Celery Salt
- 4 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Black Pepper
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients in a jar, then give the jar a good shake.
- Alternatively, for even smaller onion texture, you can place all or part of the ingredients into a food processor or spice grinder.
- I’d recommend shaking the jar to mix the ingredients well before each use.
- Store this in a dry, cool place.
